Purpose
These terms govern the use of French Levels, a site for learning French: lessons, exercises, audio dialogues, vocabulary, conjugation, grammar and blog. By using the site, you accept these terms.
Access to the site
Published content can be read freely, without an account.
An account keeps your progress: corrected exercises, history, points, favorites, level and preferences.
The interface exists in French, English and Arabic. Content that is not translated yet may appear in another language, with a notice.
Your account
Signing up requires an e-mail address, a display name and a password of at least 12 characters. You confirm your address with the link received by e-mail.
You keep your password secret. From your account, you can change your password and close the sessions open on other devices. After ten failed sign-ins, the account is blocked for 15 minutes to protect it.
You can delete your account at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Acceptable use
You use the site to learn, in good faith. In particular, the following are forbidden:
- massive automated access, such as scraping content or sending bursts of requests;
- any attempt to access an account, data or area that does not belong to you;
- any action that disrupts the site.
Too many requests are refused for a while. An account used against these rules may be deactivated.
Content and intellectual property
The site's lessons, exercises, dialogues, audio recordings, illustrations and texts are protected. You may use them to learn, alone or in class, without republishing or selling them.
Some vocabulary data comes from open sources, credited on the About page, and remains subject to its own license.
Corrections, placement test and points
Automatic corrections, the placement test and points give an indication of your progress. They are neither a diploma nor an official certification, such as the DELF, DALF or TCF.
Availability
The site is provided as is. We do our best to keep it available and accurate, but it may be interrupted for maintenance. Content and features may be added, changed or removed.
Liability
Content is reviewed before publication, but a mistake is still possible: report it from the Contact page.
Within the limits set by law, French Levels is not responsible for the consequences of an interruption of the site or of use contrary to these terms.
Personal data
The data processed for your account, how long it is kept and your rights are described in the privacy policy.
Changes
These terms evolve with the site; the date of the last update appears at the top of the text. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version.
