يُشتقّ الجذر بحذف -er من المصدر (nettoyer ← nettoy-). ثم تُضاف اللواحق -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient. الفعل النموذج هو nettoyer (je nettoyais، nous nettoyions).
